Title: Small simple database server software

Does anyone know of a simple little database server soft that has a good support forum? I learned ms access along time back, and never looked at it again. So i'm pretty rusty. The upside is i have quite a lot of time to learn it.

are we thinking linux or microsoft database software? mysql of some form would probably do it?
