New tests have revealed that XP with the beta Service Pack 3 has twice the performance of Vista, even with its long-awaited Service Pack 1.

This one will run and run... :icon_chuckpc:

Nothing new there, Vista really is, is a piece of typical Microsoft crap bloatware , with all that useless eye candy wasting the processor.

Nice to find another puritan about the place. :) I run XP in classic mode, with all the fancy stuff, except font smoothing, turned off. Why waste cycles on effects?

I use a neat little program"XP-AntiSpy " to disable all the useless junk.

I'm actually thinking of removing Vista from my laptop and installing XP. It will be even more tempting when SP3 comes out. I have nothing against Vista, in fact, I like it, but my laptop isn't the most powerful, and it does run fairly slowly with Vista installed. Also, several of my programs, like Roboform and Sea Monkey, still don't run perfectly on Vista.

I use xubuntu on my little 900mhz laptop. Makes it run like a bat out of hell. If I had xp on the thing it would take 15 minutes to get to the desktop.
The first thing i noticed in vista was the no run in the start menu. I know its around there somewhere, but..... I don't want to look for it.

The Windows Key + R shortcut still works, Bob. :)
