An instant trip to the Moon and back is now possible. View the Moon as if you had the largest telescope on Earth. Enjoy a fascinating close-up view of our satellite.
This screensaver delivers the Moon in full 3D with the finest detail. You can see even the tiniest craters made by collisions of meteors and comets on the lunar surface.

Thanks Simon. I must say I'm very cautious about downloading screensavers!

Oops, too late, but according to this opinion maybe it's not for everyone. :o

So unless you have an actual graphics card installed that has been around since 4 or 5 years you can?t run it. Yes I do have one myself but not ever PC user in the world has. Or to put it differently, one has to have a fairly decent graphics card (and no, not everyone spends hundreds of dollars on graphics cards every couple of months or get one bought for them) to run a screen saver.
A screen saver that is a 11.5 MB big download.
Imagine being a elderly person in a rural area or being someone in a 2nd (let alone 3rd) world country.
No high speed connection. Computer being a couple of years old already. Do you truly think that they are waiting for a program that runs when they aren?t around that takes forever to download and means they have to invest in a new machine? A program that uses more resources then the actual useful and entertaining programs on their hard drive.
I don?t mind a screen saver while I?m at work. It kicking in when I?m doing stuff that isn?t computer related but it has to be not memory intensive, pretty, non distractive and very well done before it can charm me. A (bunch of) picture(s) that flies around the screen claiming to be 3D doesn?t do it for me.
I guess he (or she) didn't download it. ;D

Bloody hell, it's as if they're saying it's compulsory! ::)

but with all those pictures 11.5mb is nothing!

Has anyone ever downloaded anything useful from Giveaway of the Day? I used to visit their website daily for a number of months but gave up because I could never find anything I wanted.
