I'm having problems with Firefox. It keeps shutting down.
I'm using version 2.14 and have looked on Mozilla site for a solution.
Only thing I can find is something to do with Java and it advises uninstalling Java.
I really don't want to do this. Does anybody else have this problem
-
What add-ons do you have, Lona? It could be one of them, not FF itself which is crashing. Also, have you tried reinstalling the Java plug in?
-
I'm using the same version, Lona, with no problems. I agree with Simon, start with the addons. If it's not them, then look at your security software.
-
I've got the java plugin so it can't be that.
I've got avg safe search, I wonder if that's the problem. This has only started since I updated to avg version 8
-
All you can do is try turning off AVG safe search, and see if it helps, Lona. Is that some sort of anti-phishing tool?

Dunno, Simon. I only saw it when I went into firefox to check my addons. I'll go and investigate

Found a setting on avg called "link scan" so I've disabled it. Will see how it goes in the next few hours
-
OK, let us know how it goes, Lona.

I've also had one or two problems lately with Firefox, nothing terribly spectacular until just now when I followed a link to an eBay sale. It keeps re-loading the page and other open tabs stutter. Like Lona, I've got the AVG add-on. I've just disabled it and I'll see how I get on now.
