Nice find MB. Didn't know about that before.

Possibly a daft question, but is it hypothetically possible to drill form one side of the world to the other, and what would happen if someone did?
-
We will be able to see what MB is doing. ;D

A very long underground network ;D

I think you would have a problem when you got near the central core Simon, because of it being very, very hot ;D

You'd tick off the Earth god with 20 arms whose job it is to keep the world from exploding with a room full of linux terminals and a refrigerator of mountain dew. ::)

nope, you'd have issues with the grav field too... but mostly the heat would be an issue.. plus the inner part of the core is moving around creating the Earth's magnetic field. Though I guess you might be able to go short distances, like across russia....

The book looks a little expensive, and hard to find apparently.

We don't tend to hear of these things in the west. Especially if it were a race and the other participant gave up, or what ever happened......... :dunno:

 Better call first, I might be out. ;)
