Looks quite interesting, but I'll stick with XP on my main computer. Might be worth trying 7 on my laptop, though, to see if runs better than Vista. I wonder if the beta versions will be free?

They usually are Simon, same as my Vista all versions 32 and 64 bit as a limited trial edition :o:

Beyond the better-behaved UAC, though, Windows 7 impresses with its overall snappy feel. Windows and dialog boxes appear more responsive, and some features - such as the default view of directory listings, which now favour the "details" view - have been re- engineered with snappiness in mind. Windows 7 also boots quicker and shuts down more speedily than Vista. Several early benchmark reports show Windows 7 already ahead of both Vista and XP in performance on identical equipment.
 Good, Microsoft has acted on the complaints about vista, when windows 7 is released most people will be dumping vista just like they did with windows ME.

I hate to beat a dead horse, but there is no reason why they couldn't have done this for vista. All these issues were well known complains before vista. They thought they could have consumers eat there product and not have to deal with any relevant consequences. Now that apple and linux are nipping at their heels they're changing their tune.. and fast.

surely all of this has happened before... or is it just ME.
-
It was just Me. ;D
-
I suffered that OS. :bawl:
-
Be brave, Clive, someone had to. :)
-
I skipped it. :)
-
I did that with Vista. ;D

ditto
