Title: How fast do you read?
Post by: Clive on March 30, 2003, 17:52
This is a reading test to see how fast you can read.  I scored 426 words a minute which seems reasonably fast.

That's really interesting Clive.  However, as I was on a pub trip to Liverpool last night, and only arrived home at 04.30 GMT, I can hardly focus at the moment.  I'll have a go tomorrow when I've sobered up!

That's clever Clive, I did it twice in case I'd cheated but both times I got 487! Must be all these reports I run my eyes across  ;D

Well, I always skim read, but half the time I have to go back and read lines again, anyway, I got 636 the first time, but reading it again more carefully, I got 545.2941176470588.   ;D

Umm... I don't think their timing program works very well with Opera.

I scored 1324.2857142857142 and read it all in 28 seconds ::) Seemed longer somehow ;D

Switching to IE6 got a more normal score of 650.5263157894737. Accurate little blighter isn't it? 8)

I got 741.6 when I tried it earlier.  I do read quite fast, but that rate does seem a bit silly.  (MSIE v6)
