and still as popular as ever... even with my generation (I was 8) - that's got to be a testament to the fantastic music that they produced.
-
The music will live forever, Sam. :)

great band   my wife was never a fan but just put up with me listening to them I think but even she had to admit that they were easily the best act at Live Aid.
how right she was
-
That was one of their crowning glories, wasn't it?
-
It was.
-
And that was 24 years ago! :o

It's when you start being able to remember things that happened 50 years ago that you know you're no longer young. :D
-
I'll let you know when I do.

Freddy was the King........as well as a Queen....not a lot came command both those positions at once, now could they. ;D
-
:haha:
-
New compilation is out...The Absolute Greatest Hits,or something like this...have they not all been out before and now repackaged for the true Queen fans ?
-
Yes, it's a blatant cash in by Queen Productions. I already have them all, and there's nothing new on it, so I won't be buying it, but it's a good album for 'newbies'.
-
Is there any though Simon ? Queen like many others were of their time and music has moved on...?or down in some cases
-
Is there any what, David? 'New' material? There's plenty of live stuff with Freddie still unreleased, and there are also some demos knocking about that they could possibly do something with, a la, Made In Heaven.
-
Is there the interest now Simon.. personally I don't think that Queen now have done the old Queen any good at all...and in the usual way it is better that fans (and I am not one) remember Freddie as he was rather than just another ageing Rock star who would be past his best now like many others they never know when to give it up...but what do I know ?
-
There is definitely still an interest from fans, David, but I take your point from a casual observer's view. I have several bootlegs of live recordings, audio and video, and would love to see them restored and officially released. In fact, a concert from 1975 is coming out on DVD very soon, and is also being broadcast on BBC2 this Friday night.
