Anyone know if Office 2003 will work on Windows 7?  I don't expect my trusted copy of 2000 will work.   >:(

It does Clive, at least on 32 bit, not tried 2000 though yet.

I still cant get into this even though im not keen on word 2007  :)   maybe I should try it more

I have used Open Office, and found one or two compatibility issues with existing Excel documents, but that was several versions ago, so it may well be fine now.  Sun Star Office looks interesting, but if you have a student in the household, you can get MS Office 2007 for not a lot more.

I think Mrs Clive can get it cheaper because she's a teacher.  But I'm not sure if her having retired might be a problem.  I certainly wouldn't pay the full price!

I feel the need to say torrent, but I wont..... openoffice is the way forward - it has developed quite a bit too. I'm sure microsoft also took the idea of XML files (the .docx thing) from the open office default format.
