Call me bonkers, but I foresee that in the not-too-distant future we'll each be identified solely by our genetic signature.  Whilst it'll make Genealogy absolute child's play, that horrid photo on our Driving Licence is going to become somewhat redundant.

Getting rid of the photo would be a bonus!

Not having to renew it every 10 years would be even more of a bonus...

Isn't that only when you get over a certain age?  Oh, wait...  :)x

No, photo licences have to be renewed every 10 years anyway.

Me neither, couldn't see the point as you need to carry the counterfoil anyway.

Just 4 more years for me.  Then they will probably ban me!

Check the small print, Sam. The licence doesn't expire, but the photo card does. The expiry date, iirc, is shown on the third line down.

probably how it should be... not like I look anything like the photocard pic.

They all say that, Sam. ;D Strangely, I supplied the same photo, to the same Council office, for both my bus pass and blue badge. The latter looks like me, the former looks like someone who's been spit roasted for 3 hours.  :dunno:

Yes, my hackney licence pic looks like I've spent a month at Chernobyl.  Must be the way they scan them.

I think so, Simon. The bus pass has definitely been scanned, while the blue badge has a mounted photo under the lamination.

Chris's blue badge has a 'proper' photo as well.

There you go, then, Councils need to learn how to scan. :)
