Astronomers would love a gravitational wave to hit Earth.  They have been searching for them for years but they are so feeble that they have failed to detect any - despite having extremely sensitive instruments both on Earth and in space.  These waves couldn't possibly cause any damage to our planet.  The guy who wrote the article is just a fruit cake and there are a lot of them around.

Yeah the energy density is way too low. I have friends who work on their detection and they are looking for the movement at pico metre scales. The diamter of an atom is around 50pico metres (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Picometre)
