Solid state devices take another step forward. Interesting thought, when people start producing SS laptops, the battery voltage can be dropped...

It means they could, because instead of wiring the cells in series to produce the 14v or so currently deployed, they could move to parallel wiring with the same number of cells, potentially tripling battery life.
