Just a stone's throw from Stonehenge, the remains of the British monument's long-lost timber twin—pictured in an artist's conception—have been found, archaeologists announced Thursday. (Full story: "Stonehenge Had Neighboring, Wooden Twin—More to Come?")

It's a remarkable area for Neolithic finds and I have no doubt that yet more is waiting to be found.  You can somehow sense it.  At Tinkinswood and St Lythan's near Cardiff there are burial chambers which predate Stonehenge by 1000 years I am always feel a sense of awe whenever I visit them.   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tinkinswood   http://www.stonepages.com/wales/stlythans.html

I'd like to go and see Stonehenge one day.  It's not actually all that far from me.

It's much smaller than you think it will be.  And the pictures always show the best angle.  But it's well worth a visit.

I've only ever driven past it, I must manage to get there too.
