The average broadband customer in the UK gets a connection speed of 3.8Mbps, well ahead of the global average of 1.7Mbps, according to a report.

You should get yourself a decent ISP.  I get 5362.

I doubt that anyone actually gets what they pay for.  I am on an 8MB service.  I live about 75 yards from the Chorley exchange, in property built in 2002 (hence the wiring should be newish) and yet I only get just over 6MB on a good day.
