Ive just replaced my desktop computer with one of the all in one computers from Lenova. First class job, just looks like a monitor, and means less wires etc.
It has exactly the same capacity as my old tower one, but includes touch screen technology. Has anyone experienced touch screen? If so what do you think of it? My own opinion is that although it seems to work ok, its just as quick to use the mouse. You can also bring up a keyboard on screen, but again typing is quicker with your own keyboard.
Conclusion for me is that I do use touchscreen sometimes, but purely for fun, and still prefer the mouse and keyboard method.

I'm not sure it's something I'd particularly go for. Is is not awkward having to reach and point all the time, assuming that the screen is at least at arms length from where you're sitting?

The thing that puts me off touch screen on the computer is exactly the same thing I hate about my touch screen phone - cleaning fingerprints off them. I'll stick to traditional input methods, thank you very much.

I think that's certainly a valid consideration, Steve, and one that would put me off too.

Its not exactly awkward, but it works ok but dosent feel right, and quite honestly its quicker to use a mouse, which of course you can do if you want. I didnt buy it because it had touch screen, but because its compact. Its a good piece of kit, but I think Im too set in my ways.

I know exactly what you mean, I find myself keep looking at the screen when its turned off checking the smudges. Think I will only use the touchscreen if I get bored.
:fart: This sums me up lol.

Aren't we all! ;D

I actually woke myself up, last night. Now, I've done that snoring before, but this was a first... :o

I nearly did, except for the laughing bit. ;D

I really like touchscreens but doubt I could use one on a desktop. They work well for mobile devices but for anything else I'd say keyboard plus mouse can't really be easily beaten.

I think your right Sam. Ive cleaned my screen twice since Ive had it-only had the PC a week. I cant stand dirty screens.
-
You'd think they'd have overcome that issue somehow.

They overcame it years ago. They created PS2 ports so that you could plug a separate keyboard in :)

Thank you - though to me it was obvious. Since the day I plugged a keyboard into a computer I haven't once suffered with fingerprints on the screen.
Well, not quite true. There were some once, after one of my ex-girlfriends decided she needed to poke at the screen to tell me what she was looking at. My screen was more important than her, hence the "ex" bit of girlfriend.

I hate people who poke screens... just not necessary. If you need to point at something use the darn cursor.

I agree. It's a jaw-dropping moment when someone jabs a finger at the screen. >:(
