There's too much money in football for its own good, Sam. If the financial hard times hit sponsorship, they will struggle to pay the wages bill.
-
It's rather obscene that so much money can be thrown around in football, when the disabled, among others, are facing financial cutbacks.
-
It is, Simon. I think salary caps should be brought in to stop the bidding wars.
-
They should definitely do something.
-
oh indeed! salary caps are the way forward.
Torres is supposed to be leaving liverpool for 50m....
Oh and the budget deficit that UK physics had was 80m...
-
Distorted priorities, eh Sam. The problem with the salary cap is, of course, that unless it's internationally agreed, you end up losing the best players to overseas sides. It's an issue which is really impacting rugby teams at the moment, we have a salary cap, the French do not.
-
oh indeed, but does that really matter in some respects? though i guess it changes European competition but not at home. Anyway, UEFA are taking steps to try and make things more even.
-
I hope they're more effective than FIFA, or fiefdom as I think of it.
