Title: Can't map/see NAS on the Network on laptop
Post by: Moreno on May 02, 2011, 19:47
Hi Guys,

Having a really annoying issue on my wifes laptop. I wanted to map some drives on her laptop from the NAS drive on our network, but for some reason I cannot view them. I have mapped them easily on my laptop and then tried the same on hers, but it just cannot see them.

We used to be connected to the drive from this laptop, but had recently installed a new drive into the NAS which in turn formats it. I disconnected the mapped drives via net use command in cmd.

She has windows 7 and we are trying to connect it to a QNap TS119. The qnap is connected to the router via ethernet but the laptop is on wifi.

Any help at all?

let me know if you need anything else.

thanks

Networking isn't my thing, but I wonder if it could be a firewall issue, either in the router, or is there a software firewall present?

Try using a cable on the lappy. That will eliminate (or identify) a wireless problem.

Thanks guys, sorted the problem.

I made sure all were deleted via net use and then restarted the modem/router and it then found the nas. Must have been the flaming router!!!  >:(

Thanks for the replies
