It turns out the Los Alamos fires are world news, even making it to the front page of the BBC online (right next to the Duke and Duchess visiting Canada). Who knew? I guess everyone’s really worried that my theory of quantum gravity, which is of course sitting in my desk drawer at work, might go up in flames

indeed. doens't look good at all. that photo really says it all - but they have a massive point about the nuclear material. silly press. Its like the jellyfish story - OMG the nuclear power plant is shut down. Yes, that's what they do when they don't have cooling water, nothing shocking there. Flipping news reporters not having a clue about anything apart from how big their noses are.
