I used to be quite a fan of Status Quo, but went off them when they became 'softer' and radio friendly. Over the last 20 years, I've heard several 'new' Quo albums, but none of them have had much in the way of real 'bite'. Until now...
'Quid Pro Quo' is, for some reason, apparently only available from Tesco / Tesco Online, but is probably the best thing the Quo have done for 30 years! OK, so it's not quite as raw as the 70s albums, but the guitars are louder, the songs are better, and this rocks harder and faster than anything I have heard from the band in recent years. Opener, and new single, Two Way Traffic is a good indicator of what the rest of the album is like. For Quo fans, despite a few duff tracks, this is almost 'there'. Oh, and you get a free live CD of old hits as well.

It's OK for you youngsters, but I remember real rock and roll. ;D

I remember seeing Quo play at the NEC - with Steeleye Span! Quo were good but it was Steeleye that rocked.

I had a Steeleye Span t-shirt. It went all around my fat. :)x

Anybody remember Wee Willie Harris?

Me. ;D

No.

Was his Christian name Eric?
-
No his name was Charles. He was one of the original Rockers. I saw him perform at Sandown Pavilion years ago. A real character.
Used to dye his hair all different colours and wear a jacket to match!

I saw the show at Cardiff International arena. Absolutely superb apart from the fact everybody stood up when Quo came on. Any idea which year that was Gill? It must be at least 10 years ago but I'm just guessing.

Gosh that goes back a long way! 1956 - 7 I reckon! ;D

According to Wikipedia, it was 1996. Tempus fugit!
-
Wee Willie was active from 1957, and still singing today at 78!
-
15 years! :omg:

Doesn't time fly. I really can't remember much of the last decade, but it's gone somewhere!

Never to return. That's forum life for you. ;)
