ISPs face changes to the way they advertise broadband services.

Those two little words, "up to", gave ISPs a great deal of leeway, although, so much depends on the condition of the BT line delivering the service, it's not always the ISPs' fault when the maximum speed can't be achieved by the end user.

CAP also looked at the way ISPs advertise services as unlimited even though they impose data thresholds.
One ISP offers 40GB download allowance (subject to Fair Use Policy) and then for a fiver or so extra the customer can buy a "boost" of another 40GB, but this boost is also subject to a Fair Use Policy!
What do we say about the Irish? :laugh:
