Title: ALMA - a video introduction
Post by: sam on June 30, 2012, 08:55: Wanna have a bit of a laugh, see me (the one in the green shirt) and a few of my colleagues try to explain ALMA and life as a scientist to the general public (the second video is more fun and the 3rd doesn't involve me :p ):

We took just one take - but took like an hour worth of video and condensed it down. We cut out the bits of me talking about aliens...

I'll see if I can dig it out... in most of my talks I talk about the script we have that removes "alien attack fleets" which are really just image processing artefacts that look just what you might imagine a flotilla of space craft might look like.
