I have set up my own dun connection. What | would like to know, should I be unticking "enable software compression" or leaving it ticked. ???
-
I've always left DUN connections "as found" and I have not experienced any problems Lona. I'd leave it ticked. I'm sure that others will comment though.

I always tick it Lona ;)
Best advice is to try it with - if it doesn't work untick it and try again :)

When it was ticked, I was having quite a few cutoffs. I read a post on ispr review about cutoffs and it advised unticking it. So far, so good but could be co-incidence. What does it mean anyway??

I always set up my DUN connections manually and the only boxes I have ticked are Enable Software Compression and TCP/IP.
I don't know the technical details (perhaps someone else can explain) but some ISPs support compression, which allegedly makes pages load faster.

I set up my own connections as well, Chorleydave, and both were ticked, I will retick "enable software compression". :)
