Over 75% of residents on Indian reservations in the U.S. are non-Indians.

Because of the switch to an All-Volunteer Force from a Conscription force in 1973, the number of Americans enlisted has dropped over time. Currently, only 0.5% of the American population is enlisted in the US Military. During World War II, 9% of the population was enlisted, and 2% were enlisted during the Vietnam War.

Cows originated in the British Isles and Europe. Humans domesticated cows between 8,000 and 10,000 years ago.

Panda bears have an extra “thumb” (which is actually an extra-large wrist bone) just for holding onto bamboo stalks. A panda bear can eat over 45 lbs. (20.4 kg) of bamboo per day.

Santa Claus, also known as St. Nicholas, was born in Patara, Turkey, in the 3rd century A.D.
