Recently I have had some problems transferring files over MSN Messenger.
A friend who cannot receive from me but can send to me is on AOL and she has found this out :
MSN has released updates of Messenger that get around AOL's blocks -- AOL has been countered all of them; a Microsoft representative said that the version of Messenger released Wednesday was the fifth in as many days. As of Thursday morning there was no new workaround available from Microsoft.
Does anyone know anything about this and why AOL should want to block MSN as I always thought that they were hand in glove with each other :(
-
It's quite simple Sandra. AOL think they invented Instant Messaging and don't want Microsoft muscling in on their territory ::) So they try every tactic in the book to stop Microsoft (and all the other IM clients) from interconnecting with their service >:(
-
Try Trillian, Sandra. ;) :P :-* ;D
-
Thats even worse for file transfers Simon,I have always had problems getting/sending files to and from people on trillian.
I think it should be banned as it may be ok for people who use it but it causes lots of problems for non trillian users :P
-
Well, if everybody used it there would be no problems! :P ;D ;D
-
I'm enjoying this!
;D ;D ;D ;D

As MSN Messenger is the best,(the new MSN 6 is great),then everyone should dump the inferior imitations then there wouldnt be any need for such crappy programs as trillian :P
-
ICQ is good for transfering files, the good thing about it is that if you get cut off you can resume the transfer which none of the others do, do they?
On saying that I don't use it much now days cos no one else does :)
-
MSN is by far the best Messenger out there ;D
MSN6 has games (allbeit not great ones), gives us display pictures, and load of other stuff, kick *** piece of software... Which is not usually a term i use when something was released by Microsoft 8)
-
Call me old fashioned (and many of you will ;D ) but I far prefer Yahoo Messenger any day.
-
Is that why you never come to talk to us Clive? ;)
-
He does sometimes Simon,he came on last week just to tell me to pull my finger out as someone had asked a question and I hadnt replied quickly enough for him :o
Good job I am not Mrs.Clive as I dont know how she puts up with him,if he carries on working me so hard I shall have to ask for a 100% increase in my salary but then 2 x 0 is still 0 so thats no good :'(

Ah, but Sandra - you get the pleasure of speaking to us every single day. People would pay money for a wonderful job like that you know ;) :P
-
Well I have to admit that I DO enjoy chatting on MSN but Mrs Clive expects me to serve her with cups of tea throughout the evening which tends to disrupt matters somewhat. ;D
-
The only good thing about Yahoo Messenger is that it works on Linux ;D
Atm, im trying to find a Trillian type thing that will run on Linux, anybody know of any?
-
Well I for one LOVE MSN Messenger ;D I have loads of fun with people i like :P
I HATE chat rooms they are full of saddos and perverts... hey come to think of it maybe I ought to clear out my messenger list after all ::) ;) ;D
