Title: Spoolsv.exe Madness
Post by: Robotochan on September 25, 2003, 17:41
Has anyone else got 8 of Spoolsv.exe, at least one of which is using 100% CPU? I do, any ideas?  ;D

Says here: SpoolSV.exe (Microsoft)

Windows 2000/XP only.  This is the Spooler service which manages spooled fax and print jobs.

Recommendation : An integral part of the operating system, leave alone.

Have you done a virus scan, Robo?  Apparently the Bugbear virus is known to send lots of rubbish to printers.

Other than that, I'll hand over to someone who knows what they're talking about!   ;D ;D

Eight! :o

I only have one of them here Robo. Does your machine have multiple users? It may be that the spooler service has crashed for one user and that has caused it to respawn when other users have logged on  :-\

A quick reboot should sort it I think.
