Can anyone recommend a free anti virus program for a mate of mine? He doesn't want to spend 30-40 quid on Norton or Mcafee if there is something that will do the job for nothing!
Cheers
Phil

A couple of Anivirus progs..
Avg: www.grisoft.com
and http://www.free-av.com/index.htm
Hope they are ok.. I have been using AVG for ages with no problems, and the other 1 is reliable as well.

For anti virus software hit the Anti Vir link

mind you my post offers links to seven "must have" programs, but I see we both recommend the Anti Vir program, so your forgiven :-*

See http://pc-pals.com/antivirus.htm Phil. It's a little out of date version-wise, but the programs are still available.

Good page Tony. :) It's the first time I've seen it, but I will bookmark it so I can send it by e-mail the next time one of my less savvy friends asks me for advice. It will save me from having to type the same thing for the umpteenth time!
