Comment: Tweaking made no difference, is this because the tweak programs are more for fine tuning routers etc, instead of bog standard PCI ADSL modems?
Pings tests Broadband v Dial Up look really good , this should aid me tremendously. Yep I would advise anybody who can, to get Broadband.
I'm not gloating [honest] it's just that analyitical streak coming out in me ::)

Here's a reply to a post I made on the NDO Support Forum regards the earlier speeds I tested this morning. OK. it's early day's, but any email or support forum enquires I make, are soon answered what ever time of day or night. So coupled with decent speeds and a responsive support team, NDO are sure looking good to me, and well worth considering. Hey and I ain't on a "kick back" neither ;D ;)

If you compare your connection with the "Top 5" ISP's at ADSLGuide in terms of speed test results -
1. Nildram 445.4 Kbps
2. Eclipse Internet 444.8 Kbps
3. Zen Internet 444.0 Kbps
4. PIPEX Internet 440.6 Kbps
5. Freeserve 439.5 Kbps
(October 2003 results http://www.adslguide.org/newsarchive.asp?item=1421)
You will see your speed of 458kbps would put you 13k above thier Number 1 fastest ISP; so I would say it is all working fine and fast
Now, go and enjoy your broadband!

Looking good Tony but whether you would actually notice a difference of 13kbps during a download from anywhere is debatable ;)

Of course I totally agree Sandra,
Some people set great store by wringing the last bit of speed out of a connection, and it really is mint imperial as long as it's up there with the leaders its fine. It's just that today I was not trading, I was using the day to test the set up, so I fiddled about abit ;D
Reliabilty of the connection, and good tech support along with competertive price [does not need to be the cheapest] are the main points to consider I believe.

Some people get confused over kilobits and kilobytes per second, I know I do ???
Even with my 576kbps adsl I am doing well if I get a download at 60K :)
