When I try to write a CD any CD, my CD writer opens about 17% through the writing process but nothing is written onto it. Then the motors don't work and the light stays on and windows keep trying to read from it >:(

I have had this problem Robo, just couple of days ago. What caused it was installing additional burning programmes. Some burning software is incompatible with others while some leave stray files on your system after you have uninstalled them. I eventually had to uninstall my orginal software as installing the others had completely made it unworkable. With a little help form a friend who we shall call S, I managed to get an up to date package of my software which was easycd creator. :D
