Title: outlook express
Post by: GSS on January 22, 2004, 19:25: i whan't to start to use outlook express but i don't know one think about it and some help me

1 how do i make new folers
2 can i get e-mail from someone sent to a sertain foler if yes how
3 how do i Set up a Mail account
4 what this Set up a Newsgroups account for
5 can i read post from a yahoo e-mail use it if yes how
6 have i got a spam filter if yes how do it work
7 how do i know my e-mail addresse
8 can i change my e-mail addresse if yes how
9 can i put smilies in my e-mails if yes how
10 can i have more than one e-mail address if yes how
11 if i got to reboot my pc do i lose any e-mail i have

Right click the container folder (e.g. Inbox) and choose New Folder.

2 can i get e-mail from someone sent to a sertain foler if yes how
You can set up rules to move or delete emails based on the email address they are sent to or sent from. Click the message you want to set up the rule for and then click Message | Create Rule from Message

3 how do i Set up a Mail account
Tools|Accounts|Add|Mail and follow the wizard ;)

4 what this Set up a Newsgroups account for
To allow you read postings in Usenet (http://www.google.com/search?q=what+is+usenet%3F&sourceid=mozilla-search&start=0&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8) newsgroups.

5 can i read post from a yahoo e-mail use it if yes how
Outlook Express only works with Hotmail accounts

6 have i got a spam filter if yes how do it work
Not in Outlook Express. Lookup Mailwasher or SpamPal in Google.

7 how do i know my e-mail addresse
Your ISP will let you know what it is.

8 can i change my e-mail addresse if yes how
Ask your ISP

9 can i put smilies in my e-mails if yes how
Copy and paste

10 can i have more than one e-mail address if yes how
Yes, ask your ISP

11 if i got to reboot my pc do i lose any e-mail i have

Depending on which type of Yahoo account you have, you may be able to use POP3 to download your Yahoo Mail to your mail client (Outlook Express). If it's an xxx@yahoo.com address, you have to pay for the Premuim version, but if it's an xxx@yahoo.co.uk address, you can sign up to use the POP3 option, but unless you want loads of spam, leave all the boxes blank.

For a pop3 Yahoo account:

pop.mail.yahoo.com

smtp.mail.yahoo.com

Also, put a tick in the "My server requires authentication" box.
