1 Mb BB
« on: July 01, 2004, 16:41 »
I notice that BT has now cut the cost of its BB packages.  Not before time I might add, since it's just about the most expensive on the market.  At the moment I have the 512K package, but I could continue paying the same amount each month and get the 1Mb package instead.  Does anyone have experience with this connection speed?

BT Yahoo! Broadband 512k - down from £29.99 per month to £26.99

BT Yahoo! Broadband 1Mb - down from £40.99 per month to £29.99

The 1Mb isn't bad.  In fact, if that's including VAT, it's cheaper then Pipex, which is £33.44 pcm incl VAT.
Many thanks to all our members, who have made PC Pals such an outstanding success!   :thumb:

I've done it!  Amayyyyzing speed!  Oh wait!  It takes 7 - 10 days for them to activate it.   ;D

Yes, it includes VAT Simon.  But the catch is that I can only download 30Gb each month (hardly a problem for me)and I've had to switch my payment method from credit card to direct debit.

Pages will open faster and I get some pretty hefty e-mails from Farmer's Weekly.  Anyway, if it's there I want it!  I don't ask for much.  I'm easy to please.  Very amiable.  Gimme my 1Mb.  Anyway, I don't pay for it.   ;D

Nice to see the limits they've imposed.
30G a month for new subscribers, 15G for existing users (and 512K users), £2 per Gig over that usage being the mooted cost.

Mind you those limits are only advisory until Jan 2005.

Better the devil you know Measter.   ;D  I'm no fan of BT but I'm prepared to accept their meagre offerings as we have been in a relationship for more than 10 years now.
