Sky have finally lifted the lid on the Sky EPG reshuffle date - the downloads start next week.

A Sky spokesperson has exclusively confirmed to Sky Digi Online that the EPG reshuffle will download "next week into some boxes" and will then take "approx 2 weeks thereafter to complete."

The EPG reshuffle was delayed from last November due to a few hitches with the new version 4 software, which is also expected to be rolled out in the coming weeks.

The EPG, which has remained unchanged since Sky's launch in 1998 will include two new genres to accommodate the vast number of dating and lifestyle channels. The two new categories will be "Lifestyle and Culture" & "Gaming and Dating".

A Sky spokesman has previously stated: "These enhancements are designed to assist Sky to meet continued demand for EPG slots. Better signposting will help make it easier for viewers to find the programme and channels that they want to watch."

I hope it's a lot faster.
There is no opinion, however absurd, which men will not readily embrace as soon as they can be brought to the conviction that it is readily adopted.

I look forward to the "better signposting".  At present it seems pretty disorganised to me.

Just noticed that all my Sky menus have been reordered and the Sky+ planner is now accessed by the Green button.

They also state that the radio channels will start with 0 from now on, but they don't at the moment. Maybe another update is due later this month.
