Vista uk pricing. Uk rip off?
« on: March 10, 2007, 21:21 »
Hi Thought that this would be an excellent occasion to express my thoughts on the pricing of software in the UK. I had an email from Amazon uk with a special pre launch uk price for windows vista 249.99. I took a look at the same item on the US site and converted to GBP it was 127. Last year I wanted to upgrade my norton AV. Saw a cheap download price on the US site, tried to download but redirected to an European site which was three times the price. In the end got one on Amazon for 5. Pleased I did not buy the vista as so much software will not work on it.

Yes, Rip Off Britain strikes again!  You can get an OEM version of Vista a lot cheaper from online retailers, for example, Microsoft OEM Windows Vista Home Premium x32Bit (DVD) from Ebuyer is a shade over 70 plus postage.
