Those who can make you believe absurdities,
can make you commit atrocities.

With all these free resources available, it makes me wonder why people pay something in the region of £400 for 'professional' graphics software.   :dunno:

I have recently been playing around with photoshop CS 3.
It does seem to have a lot going for it over over other photo editing software and I have only scratched the surface of what can be done with it.
I think its well worth the price I paid for it  ;)

Like you, Sandra, most people only ever scratch the surface of these graphics programs.  They don't really need anything sophisticated but they feel that having a more powerful program will make them better graphics designers.  Some open source graphics programs such as Inkscape and the Gimp (which aren't listed on that link :dunno: ) are quite capable of competing with the likes of Corel X3 and Photoshop.  Ultimately, however, there's no substitute for talent.

There is no opinion, however absurd, which men will not readily embrace as soon as they can be brought to the conviction that it is readily adopted.
