Must be me then, bloody computer.  ::)   ;)

I have found 2 Firefox files, one is yellow and the other is green, what is the difference between them and what part do I select and what is the best destination for it?

Sorry, I haven't any idea how Bob's program works, MB.  Can you not just select them and click the Recover button?

Neither do I Simon, I have done precisely that, whether it has worked, I'm not sure.  :dunno:

Do you now have the recovered files somewhere, and are they usable?

I do have them on my D drive, but as far as being usable.......I'm not sure what I should be looking for as some of these can't be opened?

Here is what is in one profile...

[General]
StartWithLastProfile=1

[Profile0]
Name=default
IsRelative=1
Path=Profiles/qj0b6uys.default

And in that qj0b6uys is just extensions, compatibilities, Google toolbar and such.

Oh, and I've been having trouble posting and Firefox has crashed as well, some of it is internet connection related, I think.

All you need is signons2.txt isn't it?  If you have that, replace the file in your new profile with the recovered one, and hopefully you'll have your passwords back.

I've been asleep for the last 11 hours or so. One of the downsides to living halfway around the world.

Just recover the entire profile folder. Whatever files are in there will be restored. Chances are if you have separate installs of firefox 1,2,3 you'll have multiple profiles floating around too. That's probably what was causing the original conflict problem with your addons.

Files will sometimes change there names when you restore them. It's a side effect of losing its id tag and being recovered from free space.

This is probably the folder your looking for. Mine had three seperate profiles from old installations. They were all in this folder. Two didn't have my current information.

Thanks for the help bob, but out of the two profiles only one was recoverable and there was much in it. It's about time I changed my passwords anyway.

It's started again, this Webmail Notifier problem. Yahoo constantly asking for that silly security, type this hard to read rubbish. Did it, was fine for a while, then it kept asking so I have unticked Yahoo just to stop it annoying me.  :(

I don't use it, so can't really help, sorry.  :blush:  You could try the Mozilla Forums, and see if there's anything there.

I tried looking up the support page and it turns out its all in chinese. When i tried installing to get the same error it didn't even seem like it was connecting to yahoo. Trillian has to update every once in awhile because yahoo changes its client as to screw up trillians connection. If you want a good mail notifier and chat client use this. http://www.pidgin.im/ Free, open source, and it won't go down.

Looks good, thanks. It doesn't specifically say that it supports Hotmail, well I didn't find it, does it?  And does this replace MSN as I use it quite a bit, or can I just use the email part of it?

Edit: Yes this will replace the windows and msn messanger.

Msn is hotmail. All you do is put in your hotmail account information for a msn account and it will notify you of your hotmail emails.

That sounds a little too difficult for me, I don't like messing with things that work, msn works. (I'm bound to stuff it up)  :pcpunch:

 So if I can just use it for email notifications.
