The death of CD? Linn stops production
« on: November 21, 2009, 13:58 »
A manufacturer of hi-fi systems has sounded what it said could be the death knell of the compact disc player.

Linn Products has become the first manufacturer to announce it will give up on CDs from the start of next year.  Instead, the niche company, based in East Renfrewshire, will focus on producing digital streaming equipment.

As long as they keep manufacturing the cylinders I use on my old phonograph!  No form of media that has been invented in the past 100 years has lasted very long before it has been replaced by something much better.  Trouble is if you wish to keep up with technology it will cost you dearly.

I just don't see CDs dying that easily.
