How Britain got the hots for curry
« on: November 27, 2009, 00:26 »
The British have long enjoyed food with a bit of bite. And 200 years ago, an Indian migrant opened Britain's first curry house to cater for the fashion for spicy food.

"Indian dishes, in the highest perfection… unequalled to any curries ever made in England." So ran the 1809 newspaper advert for a new eating establishment in an upmarket London square popular with colonial returnees.

I'm more a shower person, myself. Sadly, Curries, Chinese and pizza are all denied to me now.

I'm usually a bath person too.  I love home made curry.  Balti, Tika, Jogan Rosh, Tika - any type really!  ;D

yeah I prefer a shower, but occasionally a bath can hit the spot.

I couldnt live without curry or pizza (actually pizzas are most important)

I love pizza with chilli flakes and rosemary in the dough.

I love curry with... well, I just love curry!

 ;D

I was always more a fan of Chinese food, but the sodium levels are just way too high to contemplate. Pizzas are now home made, but pepperoni is a no go area. :(
