Hi All, have stripped the monitor down and have found a Capacitor has blown, have ordered a set of 10 to replace the 5 on the board, so will keep you informed as to what happens when I replace them. :dunno:

Hi All, Have replaced the capacitors and ....... it started up, BUT, The monitor must have been hit with something, as the screen is damaged inside, could not see it till monitor started up and screen lit up  Still, I am confident now in replacing capacitors  ::) So thanks a lot for the help.

well glad the capacitors did the trick even if in the light of day (or the screen should I say..) a bigger issue was found.
