ASA disagrees with Orange network coverage claim
« on: June 30, 2010, 22:20 »
Orange has been forced to admit rival operator Three has the widest 3G network coverage by geographical area, after a complaint to the Advertising Standards Authority.

Three's parent Hutchison disputed the accuracy of an Orange advert, which claimed its network "covers more people in the UK than any other UK operator".

Hutchison said its network covered more people, while Orange maintains its does. But the ASA said Orange's data was "calculated based on a marriage of in-house tools and recognised public domain population to location information and that the claim was capable of objective substantiation".
