FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round:

Vauxhall Motors 4 - 0 Chorley.

No great loss - it's not as if we were ever going to win the thing.

Leiston game called off because our team was stuck on the M25 for 5 hours  :ack:

Yeah, Terry, I saw it on Twitter.

It is probably the most bizarre postponement since an FA Cup Qualifier had to be called off when the away team coach got lost and turned up in Norwich instead of Northwich, Cheshire, some years ago.

Last Saturday:

Stamford 1 - 1 Chorley.

Thankfully, Łylde and Blyth Spartans also drew, so our league position didn't change.

Oh dear..where do I start  :(

Met Police 2 - 1 Leiston
1 - 0 after 4 mins, sub came on for an Injured Leiston Player on 13 mins and was sent off on 30 mins (tw@t)  ::) we draw level just before half time and concede an 87th minute winner. Also today we had another new keeper the 5th this season and was given MOM from the Met Police team lets hope Danny Gay stays for the rest of the season.

Because yesterday's scheduled home tie vs Rushall Olympic was postponed due to Rushall being reinstated in the FA Cup due to their last opponents fielding an ineligible player, we might now be looking at eight weeks, YES 8 WEEKS, without a Saturday home match.

Last Saturday home game - 21st September, Chorley V Kings Lynn

Next scheduled Saturday home game - 16th November, Chorley V Frickley Athletic

EIGHT weeks later!!

A victory at Whitby Town in the FA Trophy could result in a 2nd round home match on 2nd November, but that is not guaranteed.  :ack:

Oh Dear?

Quote
It is with regret that Leiston Football Club announces the resignation of First Team Manager Danny Laws. Danny held a morning meeting with Chairman Andy Crisp where he tendered his resignation that was amicably accepted by the Leiston Chairman with immediate effect.

Danny took over from interim Manager Lee Norfolk at the end of March and helped the club achieve a highest ever position in the club’s history, a twelfth placed finale at Step Three in the Ryman Premier Division. After a successful pre-season and the acquisition of several experienced personnel, expectations were high at Victory Road especially after a good start to the season. Sadly results have declined culminating in just one win (a Suffolk Premier Cup win at Haverhill Rovers) in eleven matches and this has seen the Blues enter the relegation places. Although Danny has resigned from his position of First Team Manager he has not severed ties with the club and he is still fully supportive of what the club is trying to achieve on and off the field.

The club would like to place on record its thanks to Danny for his outstanding contribution in the short time at the club not just with first team matters but in helping shape the club as a whole.

Nantwich Town 0 - 1 Chorley.

Now joint 2nd with Łylde - one point behind leaders Skelmersdale United, but with a game in hand.
