Left-Handed Camera
Simon:
But it's curious how left handed people do adapt to right handed devices. I'm thinking screwdrivers, hammers, etc... :)x ;)

Hammers aren't right-handed! Screwdrivers certainly are; the natural inclination for a leftie is to loosen when trying to tighten and vice versa. Just because we have to adapt in order to survive in a right-handed world doesn't mean we shouldn't seek to improve our lot. When I was little I had an awful time learning how to tie my shoe laces. In the end my right-handed mum taught herself how to do it left-handed so she could show me. She said it taught her a lot about the difficulties I would have to face and it made her appreciate simple things she took for granted, such as writing from left to right, using a pair of scissors and using a tin opener. Do you remember the old-fashioned tin openers? I once bought one that was left handed and naturally put it in the cutlery drawer. One day my father came storming into the living room, waving it in his hand and ranting. "This bloody tin opener's a load of rubbish. I can't get it to work. We need another one". Before that he had never missed an opportunity to have a go at me for being 'cack-handed'; he never mentioned it afterwards.
As luck would have it, both me and His Lordship are lefties. It makes life so much easier, :) .
Thanks for the link, Dave :) . Sadly, no cameras but lots of other interesting stuff.

My best mate is left handed, and plays a right handed guitar, so it seems there are circumstances where one can adapt. I think it's quite curious why we are dexterous one way or the other. I wonder if any animals are left or right 'handed'?
GillE:
When I was a teenager I learned to play the guitar right-handed too. Even after all these years it still feels wrong.
