Strange error message
« on: June 28, 2003, 22:37 »
A website which I visit daily has been unobtainable all day, but instead of giving the usual "Page not found" error message it says on a white background:

1054: Unknown column 'loggedou' in 'where clause'
SELECT * FROM f_dropdown WHERE loggedou='1' ORDER BY display_order ASC

Does anybody know what this might mean?  Google throws up nothing at all.

It means, Clive, that you have been trying to get into these forbidden sites again and your subscription has run out ;D ;D ;D

It seems similar to this one for an SQL error Clive (see dogpile is the Dogs Bs compared to google  ;) )

1054         MESSAGE    Invalid LANG specified.  (DBERR 1054)

CAUSE      You attempted to specify a language that is not
configured on the system possibly because of
                      misspelling.

ACTION     Specify a valid language, then reissue the command
                      to create the object.

So I think that someone has been messing with the controls, maybe their chief adminstrator is on holiday and has left that site in the hands of an idiot Clive  ;D ;D ;D

Whats the site that you are trying to see or is it not one thats suitable to be mentioned on a family forum Clive  ;)

Chief Administrators should not be allowed to go away on holiday and leave idiots in charge of their websites.  That would never happen with PC-Pals would it?   :heehee:

The main site is down too Clive, giving the same error report even if you knock the bit afer ".com" off.

I think it is definately some kind of scripting error that someone has done while altering some code for the site,I dont think that its an IE fault or security settings isssue.
Maybe when whoever it was that did it sees it,he may be able to correct it  :)

Thanks Sandra.  It seems even more strange now because they are usually quite competant.  I've noticed that they have suffered quite a lot of sporadic downtime in recent weeks yet no explanation has been forthcoming.  It has always been the usual 404 error message until now though.

If you go to the whois.net website and check the domain (www version) you'll get the email of the administrator for the site - sadly it's a hotmail account.

Not sure if it is the administrator, but might be worth dropping him/her an email to see if they know about the site.

I'm very surprised that they have let it go on this length of time as there is always a great deal of activity going on.  Looks as if they have screwed up big time.  It's certainly a lesson in not messing about with something you are not adept at.  Oh, did I say Adept?  Didn't we used to have someone of that name here? ;D
