Do you know how to connect a PC on XP with a PC on 2k? My bro is such a dumbass GRR Everything was working fine till he upgraded to XP

Run the XP network setup wizard on both machines Robo.

The wizard should configure everything for you, including Internet sharing and Firewall if you want it

Where is that on both operating systems?

In XP you'll find it in the Network Connections dialog on the Network Tasks panel on the left hand side. It can also be run from Conrol Panel |
Network & Internet Connections | Set up or change your home or small office network.

The XP wizard will allow you to make a floppy disk which you can run on the Win2K machine to set up the network.

Once you've used the Wizard on the XP PC, all you need do is change your Win2K machine to similar settings.

The wizard usually sets the Internet Gateway machine to an IP address of 192.168.0.1 and net mask of 255.255.255.0 in workgroup MSHOME.

All you need to do is change the IP address of the Win2K machine to 192.168.0.2 mask 255.255.255.0, set the first DNS address to 192.168.0.1 and make sure that the machine is in the MSHOME workgroup (Control Panel | System Properties | Computer Name | Change)
