Rocks'n'Gems
« on: September 02, 2003, 14:22 »
Is there anyone heared about this game

     "Rocks'n'Gems"

About three years ago or even more I had a demo CD of Playstation one which shows this game.

I was searching everywher for it with no positif result.

The demo CD says about it:

Quote
Net Yaroze the programmable playstation
Join a world-Wide community of non-professional Playstation
Programmers Creating Playstation games for fun!
Now only  L229.00 (sorry I don't have the symbol of england money) (inc VAT)

http:www.scee.sony.co.uk/yarinfo

I wrote to Sony branch in France to see if I can buy it somewhere, they answered that it doesn't exist for Playstation, and not even for computer in France.

I searched the Internet sites. Not possoble to find it for downloading.

If someone has a way to tell me if I can get it somewhere. If I can do that for free   ;D   that'll be even much better.    ;)

                                Thanks

Hi joudi, sorry to have taken so long to get back to you but there have been a few PC problems I have been trying to help with today  ::)
I found this site and they are actually looking for Beta Testers to help develop Rocks and Gems for PC,just send them an e mail  :)

http://www.suomipelit.com/muut/gwars/about.html

I hope that this is the one you are after and that you can get it as a Beta Tester  :-*

Just looked into a link from that site and the last update was 2001 so it may not be current Joudi, sorry  :(

Bonsoir Sandra et merci beaucoup,

No Sandra, it's not that one, it's the following:

You can clic on the first turning monitor, then you can get some examles about what kind of game it looks like. (It's not a war game, it's puzzle game but wonderfully made).

Are you sure its not the same Joudi  ???
They say this:

"He had his PlayStation with him and a cool game called Rocks'n'Gems. Lauri played it almost all the time for quite some time actually. He liked it very much. We realized that there wasn't any games like that available for the PC and so we got to work. "

So I think they are developing the same game for PC but obviously will have to call it by a different name so that they dont get into trouble with Sony  :)

Well, it looks very similar to the original, but it doesn't have the same name and it's not the same small boy the hero of the game. Perhaps they are trying to copy it or it's principle.

I tried to download from them. Nothing worked. Even the window of their site seems to be vibrating a little. (It's not well done). So, I'm afraid to get problems if they send one version to me.

Anyway, the game seems to be ready many years ago. I didn't find it in France. Normally it must exist in England. It's address is UK. If it doesn't exist in England market, that means to me they probably hide it for a commercial reason. I found a similar game to it which is called "Mr Driller". But of course there is an important diference between both.

Thanks a lot GSS. The second link is very useful. At least it gave me the real date of the game (February 1998) and the e-mail of the author. I've just send him a message hoping the answer which fits my limits (money).

                           Thanks again
