Best DVD Player and Cheap!
« on: December 29, 2003, 14:56 »
I just bought the Yakumo XL2 Multi-region DVD Player  from Amazon for £35, it came in 2 days and it was ordered on Saturday. Anyway for £35 it's amazing! It can play:
DVD
DVDR
VCD
SVCD
XVCD
XSVCD
CD
CDR
CDRW
MP3
JPEG (pictures)
and to my amazement DivX and Xvid DVDs  :o

So far I haven't seen anything wrong with it apart from a rather chunky Remote control  ;D

And to put the icing on the cake, it's silent and looks expensive  ;D

Here's the link: Amazon.co.uk

What codec Divx and Xvid did you try it with?

It doesn't mention Divx on their website

hey promised the earth! Then delivered mud.
Technically it did meet the spec.

:-[  Divx on a 700m cd is a great advantage from the "downloader's" point of view  ;D

Must admit I bought a Umax/Yamada 2100 Dvd Player 5.1 Multi Region Capable back in June off Ebuyer for £44.99 and can honestly say its only been used 3 / 4 times but it seems ok.

I'd edit that message if I were you  :P That's one of the most illegal things in the UK to download since that's the only file type BT will send out a letter for  ;)
