A new service lets you send letters to anywhere in the world - from behind your computer screen.
Called L-Mail, the service converts your emails into letters and posts them for you.
L-Mail operates in 20 countries, and its makers say this means people will be able to send letters at local rates ? saving money.
To send a letter via L-Mail you need to open an account and put some money in it, and then enter the names and addresses of your contacts into a personal online address book.
Prices start from £0.47 for a three page letter, inclusive of paper, envelope and postage.
Users of the service receive an email copy of correspondence that can be filed away and a separate confirmation email to confirm them that their letter is on its way.
You can also personalise letters by providing your own letterhead and a digital version of your signature.
L-Mail managing director Peter Harris said, "Our new email letter writing service makes keeping in via a printed letter a breeze. Our pre-launch trial has proven to be an overwhelming success with participants loving the new service".
