Happy Happy Sound
« on: September 21, 2007, 20:16 »
Radio 1 is nearing its 40th anniversary. Looking back on previous eras might bring a fond smile, but it might also make you feel your age. Dedicated fan and blogger Simon Hayes Budgen offers his own appreciation.

After being a Radio Caroline fan for many years I thought that Radio1 was a very belated and lame attempt to give us teenagers the music and style of presentation we craved for.  Now that I've grown up a little they can stuff their rap crap up their arse!   ;D

I have noticed with dismay that some of the aforementioned 'rap crap' is slowly infiltrating it's way onto Radio 2, particularly on the Steve Wright afternoon show.  I haven't listened to Radio 1 for at least 10 years.   :ack:

You're telling porkies now, Clive. Radio 1 started in 1967 so can't see you being a teenager at that time. :o
